The Department of Clinical Pharmacology seeks to apply new scientific ideas and insights in state-of-the-art medicines. Its main focus is on improving the treatment and prevention of cancer. It has several research programmes and prioritises research from “bench to bedside” in the hope that one day a cure will be found.
The Department also runs clinical trials and provides advice on drugs to the local Strategic Health Authority, hospitals and GPs, as well as teaching medical students.
