The Brunsfield Foundation of Malaysia has strengthened its commitment to the furtherance of International Human Rights Law through the provision of two fully endowed scholarships on the MSt International Human Rights Law in the Department for Continuing Education at Oxford.

The Foundation has previously supported scholarships on the Master’s course which is run jointly with the Faculty of Law. This new commitment will ensure that two students from the Association of Southeast Asian (ASEAN) countries will be able to undertake the course, each year, in perpetuity.
The 22 month part-time distance learning course enables human rights professionals from around the world to develop their understanding of this complex area of law alongside their careers so that they can apply their learning directly. The participants come together in Oxford for a summer school at the end of each year during the course, which enables them to meet each other and their supervisors and to share ideas and exchange their experiences.
The Brunsfield Foundation is the giving arm of the Brunsfield International Group which is based in Kuala Lumpur. Tan Sri Dato Dr Ir Gan Thian Leong, the Founder and Group Managing Director of the Group said: 'The Brunsfield-Oxford ASEAN Human Rights Scholarship will enable deserving inpiduals in the ASEAN region to benefit from the best education in human rights. This in turn will empower them to serve their countries with excellence. Brunsfield wants to give these opportunities to people who will be able to make a difference to society.'
