A DPhil scholarship has been endowed in the Division of Medical Sciences thanks to support from the Kay Kendall Leukaemia Fund (KKLF). The scholar will be based at the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine (WIMM) within the Radcliffe Department of Medicine (RDM).
The scholarship, which received some matched funding from the University, will cover course fees and a maintenance grant for the scholar for the duration of their study. The first scholar will commence their studies at Oxford in the academic year 2023–24. Known as the ‘Oxford–Kay Kendall Leukaemia Fund Graduate Scholarship’, it is available to graduate students who show exceptional academic merit starting a DPhil at the MRC WIMM focused on any aspect of leukaemia.

KKLF has a long history of supporting research in this key area and this gift to Oxford builds on previous research support for the University over several years.
Professor KJ Patel, Director of the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, said: 'We are delighted to receive this generous support from the Kay Kendall Leukaemia Fund to endow a DPhil scholarship. KKLF’s commitment to advancing research into all areas of leukaemia will enable us to attract the very best scholars to Oxford.’
