Yesterday, Nathan Bostock, Santander UK's CEO, met with the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Louise Richardson, to sign a renewal agreement for £690,000 in support of scholarships and travel awards.

Santander has generously funded a wide range of student support and other activities at Oxford since 2007 with the bank's Santander Universities division previously committing almost £2 million in funding over a nine year period.
The agreement was signed during a short ceremony at Convocation House. In addition to meeting with Professor Richardson, Mr Bostock also had the opportunity to meet with staff and students who have benefited from Santander's generous support.
Professor Louise Richardson said: 'Santander's philanthropy continues to support one of the University's key aims: widening access and participation. I was delighted to welcome Nathan Bostock and his colleagues from Santander here to celebrate the signing of our new three-year partnership, and to meet with students benefiting from the scholarships and travel awards.'
Nathan Bostock said: 'Santander is committed to supporting higher education as well as local communities across the UK. The partnership with the University of Oxford is a brilliant example of how two very different institutions can work together. It's been great to meet the students and staff, and see first-hand the real impact of our joint programmes.'
