The 2013 BNY Mellon Boat Race

Sunday 31 March 2013

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Andrew Hamilton, was joined by over a hundred friends, benefactors and alumni at a special event to witness and celebrate the 159th Oxford v Cambridge Boar Race. The Dark Blues of Oxford, who led from the start, won the Race by 1 1/3 lengths and in a time of 17 minutes 28 seconds. Their victory sealed a phenomenal clean sweep for the University this year, with Oxford also winning the Isis & Goldie Reserves Race, The Newton Women’s Boat Race (the Oxford Women’s crew were presented with their trophy by the Vice-Chancellor during Sunday’s event) and Reserve Race, and the Men’s and Women’s Lightweight Races.
