The 2014 BNY Mellon Boat Race

Sunday 6 April

The Chancellor, Lord Patten of Barnes, CH, and the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Andrew Hamilton, were joined by over a 150 friends, benefactors and alumni at a special event to witness and celebrate the 160th Oxford v Cambridge Boat Race. The Dark Blues of Oxford won the Race by a phenomenal 11 lengths and in a time of 18 minutes 36 seconds. Their victory concludes another great season for Oxford's rowers, with Oxford also winning the Isis & Goldie Reserves Race, The Newton Women’s Boat Race (the Oxford Women’s crew were presented with their trophy by the Vice-Chancellor during Sunday’s event) and Reserve Race, and the Women’s Lightweight Race.
