Giving to the Triathlon Club (OUTriC)

Triathletes entering a lake about to start a race

Founded in 2000, Oxford University Triathlon Club is an inclusive and welcoming yet highly successful club, allowing members of all backgrounds and abilities to train and unlock their potential in the sport. The club is made up of around 120 members consisting of complete beginners to international athletes and everything in between.

All of our members have the opportunity to participate in competitions around the year including both duathlons and triathlons, the annual highlight being the Varsity Triathlon in May. The club has a strong performance history, and in recent years we have seen podium finishes both in the team and individual competitions at BUCS.

We aim to foster an inclusive environment, but occasionally the financial burden from equipment and competition fees can prove a barrier to entry into the sport. As a club we aim to financially assist any current or potential members as best we can; any support you can give will aid us in this goal. Below are examples of how your donation today might benefit the club and its members:

  • £25 will help with minor equipment replacements (turbos, turbo skewers etc.);
  • £60 would buy new club wetsuits for member hire;
  • £70 would buy new tyres for the club bikes for member hire;
  • £400 would help buy a new bike for novices;
  • £500 would pay for a coaching qualification course to allow a club member to gain coaching experience;
  • £1000 would provide a significant subsidy for club Varsity entries.

We intend to allocate spending based on the greatest need. Please get in touch at triathlon.club@sports.ox.ac.uk if you would like to hear more or get involved.

Donors in the US can give tax-effectively via Americans For Oxford (AFO).
